The Concept

NOT A RACE. NOT A FESTIVAL. A SONIC EXPERIENCE.

🎧

Live Drum & Bass DJ

A professional DJ sets the tempo — 174 BPM, no shuffle mode. Pure collective energy designed to lock your body into flow state.

🏃

Paced Performance Run

The beat IS the pacer. Move to the music, hold tempo, and cross the finish line on the drop. No chip timing pressure.

🔊

Mobile Wall of Bass

A roving speaker rig rolls with the pack. The bass finds you. You don't chase a clock — you chase the Rhythm And Run.

Powered By Beats. Engineered for flow state. Built on collective energy.

How It Works

Four Steps to the Drop

01
🔥

WARMUP

Feel the Build

Gather at the start. The DJ drops a warmup set while the bass rig rolls into position. Stretch, vibe, lock in.

02

LINE UP

Sync Your Cadence

Seed yourself by pace wave. 174 BPM = ~7:30–8:00/mi. The DJ announces the tempo — your feet find the rhythm.

03
🎵

LOCK IN

Move to the Music

The gun fires on the first drop. The bass rig moves with you. Music Movement — the crowd becomes one organism.

04
🏁

FINISH ON THE DROP

Chase the Bass

The finish line is timed to the final anthem drop. Cross it when the bass hits its peak. Glow Beat. Done.

Energy Proof

The Vibe Is Real

I've run 30 races and nothing hits different. When the bass drops at mile 3 you forget you're running.

J

Jordan K.

Sacramento

Collective energy doesn't even cover it. 200 people locking stride to a 174 BPM set is actual magic.

M

Mara L.

SF Bay Area

The Vibe Stride is real. I hit a flow state I've never touched in training. No watch, no stress, just the drop.

174 BPM aligns with ~7:30–8:00/mi cadence for most runners — no watch needed.

Half-time option: lock into every other beat at 87 BPM for a relaxed stride that still holds tempo.

The Glow Beat finale track is released 48 hours before each event.

FAQ

Questions

Is this a timed race? +

No. There are no chip times, no age group rankings, no podiums. This is a collective experience designed for flow state — not personal records. That said, you'll probably run faster than you expect.

What pace do I need to be to participate? +

174 BPM maps to ~7:30–8:00/mi. But you can use the half-time stride at ~14:00–15:00/mi by locking to every other beat. There's no minimum pace requirement — we want you there.

Is the bass rig electric/EV powered? +

Yes. Our mobile sound system runs on battery-electric power. No fumes, no exhaust, no diesel smell ruining your vibe. Clean energy, loud bass.

Is the route controlled (closed to traffic)? +

All routes are fully closed or permitted for pedestrian traffic. Safety marshals and volunteers are stationed at every intersection. Course maps are published 2 weeks before each event.

What should I bring? +

Running shoes, water (aid stations provided), and good vibes. Optional: headlamp for early AM events, a light jacket for warmup. Leave the earbuds home — the Wall of Bass covers you.

Can I participate at a slower pace? +

Absolutely. Use the half-time stride option or just move to the music at whatever pace feels right. We'll have a sweep team at the back and the party doesn't end until everyone crosses.

What's the cancellation/refund policy? +

No refunds, but transfers are allowed up to 72 hours before the event. If Pace the Bass cancels an event, full refunds are issued automatically.
